A Puntland State military court on Sept. 27th, handed a death sentence to a militant and imprisoned four others for 20 years jail term over finding them guilty of fighting for Al-Qaeda aligned Al-Shabaab.
The State army court in statement said that the five were found guilty of belonging to Al-Shabaab terrorist group that has been fighting to topple the government of Somalia for more than a decade.
The five terror operatives were nabbed in a coordinated military operation in Puntland’s Bosaso region confessed to have been fighting for Al-Shabaab. Puntland State has been fighting against Al-Shabab and ISIS militants in the remote areas of Bari region in northern Somalia in the last five years.
