Somalia’s President President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Thursday 6/4/2017 reshuffled the country’s security structure and declared renewed war on Islamists terrorist group, Al-Shabaab.
President Farmajo made major changes in the security structure where he named new heads of police, military, and intelligence.
Abdihakim Dahir Saed was appointed the new Chief of Police replacing Mohamed Hassan Hamud who held the post under the previous government.
General Mohamed Ahmed Jimale was named the new Chief of Military after replacing Mohamed Aden Ahmed.
Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe was named the Chief of Intelligence replacing General Abdullahi Gaafo Mohamud. Sanbaloolshe was one of three intelligence heads during Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s government.
Through a twitter post made through Villa Somalia account, President Farmajo dressed in military fatigues asked Somali people to collaborate with Somali Armed Forces as they take the fight to the Al-Shabaab terrorrist group's doorstep.
