SUMMARY
While government and AMISOM forces have been able to repulse the Al Shabaab menace in Somalia, the militants are persistent with their sporadic attacks.
The militants look like they have re-energized. From the last week of August, the militants have intensified attacks on government forces and AMISOM bases in the country.
To achieve a sustainable peaceful process in Somalia, there is need for full participation of the Somali National Army (SNA) and the Somali Police Force (SPF) in the renewed efforts to take control of areas liberated by AMISOM.
