Somalia and African Union troops killed at least three Al-Shabaab militants and wouded four others in an operation conducted in southwestern Somalia region of Bakool on Friday 22nd April 2016 morning.
According to Abdi Mohamed Dile, a Somali army official, the joint force operation saw three villages pacified; Gobato, War-cadey and Gumuro, located northeast of Wajid town.
The joint military operations were aimed at liberating areas still under control of Al-Shabaab terrorists, Dile added.
Al-Shabaab terrorist group has isolated towns under its control in Bakool from other towns, put blockade on main roads, making it hard to access food aid from humanitarian agencies.
