
EVENT SUMMARY
The state media female journalist identified as Hindiya Haji Mohamed succumbed to injuries sustained after her car exploded in Mogadishu on Thursday 3rd December 2015.
Hindiya was a journalist for Somali’s state-run television and radio.
Her car was fitted with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) which detonated and critically injured the journalist.
The journalist was taken to hospital where for medication but earlier today, 4th December 2015, she died at Madina Hospital after succumbing to injuries.
Hindiya was the widow of Liban Ali Nur, a reporter who was killed in deadly Al Shabaab bomb attack in September 2012 at The Village restaurant in Mogadishu.
No group has so far claimed responsibility of the heinous attack but the Al Qaeda affiliated Al Shabaab is blamed for targeting state officials.
