On Thursday, Al-Shabaab claimed attack on Lido beach restaurant in Mogadishu Somalia that left at least 17 people killed and 20 others wounded in a car bomb.
Somali National Army (SNA) forces responded ending the deadly siege just before dawn on Friday.
According to Mogadishu police chief, Col Bishar, SNA security forces ended their operation in which several civilians holed up in the restaurant building were rescued.
Speaking at the attack scene, the police chief confirmed that the security forces were in full control of the restaurant.
Undisclosed number of terrorist believed to have been holed up inside the restaurant, all terminated.
During the rescue operation, the injured ones were rushed to hospitals in ambulances.
The attack started Thursday night when a car bomb went off near Banadir Lido Beach restaurant, followed by a gun battle.
