Somali army troops arrested 11 Al-Shabaab militants in a military operation conducted at the neighborhoods of Bardhere town in Gedo region, southern Somalia.
According to SNA source, the nabbed militants were believed to be behind a number of assassinations and IED/VBIED explosions, besides other targeted assaults in the region.
Meanwhile, Somali National Army foiled an attack from Al-Shabaab militants in Marka town in Lower Shabelle region on Tuesday night. A number of militants reported to have been killed during the clash. Al-Shabaab claimed credit of the attack saying it killed ten Somali soldiers.
Somali National Army, special forces unit backed by foreign troops (American-SF) carried out operation in general area of Mubarak, a stronghold for the Al-Shabaab militants near Afgooye town targeting an Al-Shabaab operating base. Militant casualties reported.
