Somali military forces repulsed an Al-Shabaab attempted attack in Gandershe locality of Lower Shabelle, southern Somalia.
Military source in Somalia indicate that fire fight flared up in Gandershe, a coastal area located on the Mogadishu-Marka road after heavily armed Al-Shabaab fighters staged an ambush on an SNA-Forward Operating Base in the area.
A heavy battle ensued for more than fifteen minutes. Somali troops successfully overwhelmed the enemy, subsequently repulsing the attack on their base. A number of casualties reported from the Thursday gunfight on the two sides.
