Somali Forces on Sunday raided and overran an Al-Shabaab base in Diinsoor district in Bay region.
Diinsoor has been a strategic and stronghold for the Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab for years.
The Sunday raid by Somali federal government and allied forces saw Al-Shabaab base being razed and large cache of weapons seized including grenade bombs.
Military Intelligence (MI) reports from Somalia indicate that the situation in the battle zones has returned to normalcy and SNA and AMISOM soldiers safely retreated to back to their Forward Operating Bases (FOB) in Diinsoor town.
The hammered Al-Shabaab has remained quiet about the offensive and seizure of the weapons in Diinsoor district of Bay region.
