Military Intelligence reports from Somalia and referenced by state-run Somali National News Agency (SONNA) indicate that the federal government soldiers in joint operation with Southwest State forces raided Al-Shabaab bases in Gedo regions and captured weapons from the militants.
Dinsoor district commissioner Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Aden confirmed of the joint operation saying the forces attacked An Al-Shabaab base in Diinsoor district which still harbor the Al Qaeda affiliated elements.
The joint forces killed a number of them and possessed different kind of weapons which belonged to the terrorists group.
“The joint forces have carried out attack on Al-Shabab base in the district and destroyed their base and possessed different kinds of weapons” said Commissioner Ibrahim.
The past few days joint forces have reportedly carried out series of attacks on few remains Al-Shabaab bases successfully.
