Somali army (SNA) reportedly killed seven Al-Shabaab fighters during an operation carried out east of Galgudud region in central Somalia on Tuesday evening.
Confirming about the military operation, the army commander in Galgudud region, Col. Ahmed Mohamed, briefed the reporters on Wednesday saying the operation planned and targeting Al-Shabaab militants in Galgudud region at a terrorist base in Messagawa location was a success.
He confirmed that seven militant fighters were killed by Somali army and eight others fled with injuries.
Separately Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) a contigent battling Al-Shabaab under AMISOM reportedly conducted aerial assaults in Elwak in southern Somalia.
SNA and AMISOM continue to inflict heavy losses on Harakat al Shabaab al Mujahideen movement (HSM), an affiliate of Al Qaeda terrorist group in Somalia.
