Latest military news from Somalia indicate that Somali government army (SNA) backed by African Union troops (AMISOM) have successfully repulsed Al-Shabaab Islamists and captured the strategic town of Baidoa.
Heavy fighting reported to have erupted after the Al Qaeda-linked Shebab rebels attacked military convoy belonging to SNA and AMISOM that had left Fafadun region.
Initial BDA indicate that at least 20 militants have been killed in the mid-day fighting.
