Somalia National Army (SNA) backed by African Union forces (AMISOM) engaged Al-Shabaab in a deadly fight killing over a dozen operatives and retaking a key village from the militants.
Following on intelligence lead, SNA and allied troops entered the locality located about 30 kilometers away from Hudur town, the regional capital of Bakool province on Tuesday.
Corresponding reports from Somalia open sources say several militants have been killed in the Tuesday offensive in Moro-gabey village while several others militants retreated after being overpowered. Different weaponry also left behind following the deadly clash.
The Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab pushed back from several key towns and villages in Bakool region following offensives by joint troops from Somali National Army (SNA) and AU troops (AMISOM) from 2014.
