Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that SNA forces ambushed some Al-Shabaab bases near Qoryoley Town killing over a dozen terror combatants.
The overnight assault was intelligence led with members of the public collaborating with government forces and allied AMISOM troops in fighting the enemy.
Confirming the incident, Qoryoley district Police commissioner Ali Mohamed Aden emphasized that the operations will continue in Qoryoley Town, a locality in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia.
During the raid, several Al-Shabaab combatants were also captured alive and will help the forces with intelligence about their operations in the region.
The strategic Qoryoley is an agriculture-rich town located about 120 kilometers northwest of Mogadishu. The town was recaptured by Somali and AMISOM soldiers in 2014 after flushing the Al-Qaeda linked Islamists Al-Shabaab.
