SNA and AMISOM troops have ended a siege perpetrated by Al-Shabaab terrorists. The Islamist terrorists attacked Dayah hotel Wednesday 25th January 2017 after setting off two bombs.
Al-Shabaab in the first blast that rammed the hotel used a car fitted with explosives to penetrate the hotel gates.
Then armed militants with AK 47 rifles stormed the compound engaging the forces in gun fire. Reinforcement arrived on time.
The militant detonated a car with explosives parked outside the hotel causing fire on a nearby residence.
Open sources reports indicate that at least 20 people died in the attack including a number of Journalists. 51 reportedly wounded were rushed to the nearby local hospital for treatment.
Security officials have told media that the battle for the hotel is over and government and AMISOM forces have secured the building and it's surrounding area.
