Several senior Al-Shabaab operatives were on Sunday evening killed in a precision drone strike on the outskirts of the coastal city of Kismayo in southern Somalia.
According to latest military reports from Somalia, the air raid struck an Al-Shabaab base in Berhani location, some 60 kilometers south of Kismayo, killing several senior terrorists.
Corresponding open sources indicate that Berhani residents heard huge explosions. The drone strike is said to have hit the base where the terrorists were meeting leading to several casualties.
AFRICOM has been using drones to attack Al-Shabaab positions in Somalia. In the recent past raids over 100 Al-Shabaab terrorists have been killed.
