Serbia received the first of nine H145M military Helo it had ordered in from Airbus Helicopters.
The country’s defense minister was present at the Airbus production facility at Donauwörth in southern Germany to receive the first helicopter on November 22.
Of the nine ordered for the Serbian Air Forces and Police, the first helicopter is expected to be handed over to the country’s air force has been equipped FLIR Systems Star SAFIRE 380HDc electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor very important for search and rescue missions.
Serbia is the first customer to equip its H145M helicopters with the Airbus Helicopters new HForce Generic Weapon System (GWS). GWS enables the customer to quickly and easily weaponise its helicopters.
Weapon options for this helicopter include 12.7 mm heavy machine gun pods (HMGPs), 20 mm cannon pods, and/or 68 mm and 70 mm unguided and guided rockets, as well as air-to-surface and air-to-air missiles.
