Security has been heightened in the country of Lamu as the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams 2016 kicks off.
Lamu County has had sporadic incidents of terror attacks linked to the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.
However, normalcy and calmness has been witnessed in the County following increased security officers drawn from KDF, GSU, AP and regular Kenya Police in keeping security as Operation Linda Boni progresses.
Speaking moments after exam parcels had been issued to high school principals on Monday morning Deputy county commissioner Stephen Sangolo adequate security personnel had been deployed to guard all examination centers.
Security has been heightened across all the Counties to ensure the exams runs smoothly.
