Saudi Arabia has resumed the worst ever airstrikes in Yemen, in less than 24 hours after announcing that it had called off its “Operation Decisive Storm”.
The operation is believed to have revived in retaliation to an incident in which rebel forces launched an attack on a government military brigade not under Houthi control.
Saudi Arabia had launched airstrikes on Houthi positions across Yemen, hoping to wipe out the Iranian-allied rebel group that has overthrown the government and seized power.
In the Wednesday attack, security officials reported two U.S. drone strikes against al Qaeda militants in Mukalla in which six suspected militants died in the attack.
