Latest regional crime reports indicate that Rwandan police on Wednesday, September 6 arrested seven suspects linked to notorious criminal armed groups.
Police further noted the groups were operating in a neighbouring country. Three of the suspects are said to be young recruits who were intercepted by police en route to military training outside Rwanda.
It said the recruitment has been going on for some time, with the police investigating the network.
The suspects revealed details which triggered a search that led to the arrest of four other suspected recruiters in Western Province and the capital city Kigali, police said in a statement.
However, the statement did not mention the alleged neighbouring country from which the armed groups were conducting their training from.
