9th December 2015, Russian has reported for the first time it had struck targets of the Takfiri Daesh militants in Syria with caliber cruise missiles fired from a submarine in the Mediterranean.
Tuesday, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu addressed a televised meeting with President Vladimir Putin as RT reported.
In his address, he said two major terrorists positions in the territory of Raqqa were targeted by the missiles.
The Defense Minister reported authoritatively that significant damage was inflicted upon Daesh ammunition warehouses, a mine production plant and the oil infrastructure
The the missiles were fired from the Kilo-class diesel-electric Rostov-on-Don (B-237) Submarine.
In the past three days, Russian Air Force Tu-22 warplanes backed by Su-30 fighter jets conducted more than 300 sorties, pounding 600 “various” militant targets in Syria using Khmeimim airbase .
Moscow launched its air raids against Daesh Takfiris as well as other terrorist groups in Syria on September 30, upon a request from Assad’s government.
