In yet another huge blow to Daesh (ISIS), a senior Russian official confirmed that his country’s jets conducted air bombardments in the recently recaptured Syrian city of Palmyra leaving 250 Daesh terrorists dead.
In a briefing on a state television broadcast on Wednesday 14th September 2016, Lieutenant General Viktor Poznikhir said Russian airstrikes conducted on Tuesday struck northern Palmyra where Daesh terrorists are concentrated.
According to the General, the Daesh terrorists who were targeted in the Russian aerial assaults were preparing to conduct what he termed as a large-scale attack on Palmyra, which was liberated from their grip in March 2016.
The General further noted that the Russian bombardments had killed 250 terrorists and destroyed some 15 technical-pickups mounted machine guns and anti-aircraft guns, emphasizing that the campaign against Daesh would continue.
