Mombasa, KENYA: Police on Tuesday 7th February 2017 arrested a robber and recovered a firearm during a botched robbery in Majengo Mombasa.
Tobias Ogada,35 was arrested in Mnarani Majengo area in Mombasa armed with a revolver pistol and ammunition, after attacking a business woman.
Another suspect managed to escape and police believe he was also armed with a firearm.
The two criminals had attacked Halima Abdi a businesswoman who manage to raise an alarm attracting the public.
Ogada was about to be lynched by the angry when the police arrived and whisked ready to face charges once investigations are completed.
Mombasa police boss Lucas Ogara said they have forwarded the details for ballistic identification at headquarters to ascertain the owner of the gun.
“The firearm had two ammunitions by then. We have identified it is a revolver and it might be of a police officer or a civilian owner,” said Mr. Ogara.
