The Office of the Inspector General of Police of Kenya has clarified GSU RECCE COY Unit deployed to Garissa to eliminate the Garissa University College attackers was airlifted to ops theater.
Intelligence confirms, contrary to media reports that the RECCE Coy unit traveled for 5-hrs via road using government issue Toyota Land-cruisers, the team was airlifted.
Kenya Inspector General of the National Police Service Mr Joseph Boinet verified that all elite response units traveled to Garissa by air and not by road.
Upon arrival, the Unit was intensively briefed on the psychological aspect of the situation. All other teams were withdrawn from theater and the RECCE Commando’s were deployed.
Other teams were deployed to the external environment to secure the perimeter of the theater.

no need to clarify this focus on future security of Kenyans
all will be well.
Have seen report in Daily Nation purporting that the KDF Special Forces had already cornered the terrorists
before being ordered to make way for the RECCE Unit. Let us stop the blame game and forcus on cooperation and support for the security units in order to win the war on terrorism.
