Assemblyman David I. Weprin lost his bid for Congress in Queens after little-known Republican businessman Bob Turner beat him marginally.
Bob is 70 years and has never served elective office. He won 53% of the votes with David I. Weprin gunnering 47% in what is seen a rebuke to the Obama leadership.
What made David I. Weprin lose is the obvious position of the Obama administration on Israel since the district has a large population of Orthodox Jews.
The seat fell vacant when Anthony Weiner stepped down. Weiner had a scandal mid this year. It is alleged Anthony Weiner posted lewd photos on the web .
Republican businessman Bob Turner is from Queens and has been channeling voter discontent with President Obama in the heavily democratic district.
On Tuesday Bob Turner won the election to Congress beating Assemblyman David I. Weprin. David Weprin is descendant of a prominent and wealthy Democratic family in Queens.
Turner had pointed out that the
