Monday night, 26/3/2018, Puntland security forces (PSF) conducted a major security sweep in many parts of the port city of Bosaso.
The sweep follows a series of insecurity and assassinations targeting security forces and government officials in the town of Bosaso in the past few weeks.
According to a senior Puntland official, the state troops conducted a house-to-house operation in parts of the restive Bosaso where several terror suspects and sympathizers were nabbed in the night-long swoop.
Several of those arrested crackdowns were Tuesday interrogated by the security forces. The authorities promised to release suspects found not guilty.
On Monday, suspected Al-Shabaab assailants shot and killed a top Puntland Intelligence officer, according to the local authorities.
