Pro-ISIS terrorists reportedly have fled Qandala in Puntland hours after briefly seizing the town on Wednesday.
Corresponding OSINT reports and referencing local residents, the ISIS terrorists have pulled out of Qandala in Bari region of the Semi-autonomous state of Puntland.
On Wednesday morning more than 50 terrorists seized the coastal town of Qandala, cut off communications without resistance. The militants who withdrew today had reassured residents and fishermen of just Sharia law rule.
The terrorists fled from the town as Puntland forces were organizing to launch a major offensive to take back the town.
This was first time that the ISIS captured a town in Puntland and whole Somalia since it set its first camp in Somalia, which is located in the Puntland, a self-governing region in northeastern of Somalia.
The pro-ISIS terrorist faction in Somalia is an off-shoot of Al-Shabaab, an Al Qaeda affiliate which pledged allegiance to the Middle East based Islamic State.
The terror outfit is led by Abdikadir Mumin.
