Prince Bandar bin Sultan’s aka “Bandar Bush” has left the Saudi national security intelligence service after a controversial stint as the director general.
“Bandar Bush” has been committed to overthrow the Syrian government and has been very critical of the US president for his cold-feet on Syria
The Saudi Arabia intelligence service will be headed by his deputy Youssef bin Ali al-Idrisi who is not from the Saudi royal family.
“Bandar Bush” is a former Saudi ambassador to Washington where he served the consulate for 22-years earning him the networker and hawk titles for his aggressiveness.
The prince has not hinted whether he will stop heading the the national security council.
He has been facilitating the supply of arms to Syrian rebels fighting the government in Damascus but the operation has not yielded desired results rather the Bashar Al-Assad regime has remained powerful and has made gains against the rebels.He stepped down from leading the Saudi Arabia intelligence service following the souring of diplomatic relations with Washington which he deemed toothless in Middle East’s current conflicts
