Wednesday 4th May 2016, two suspected robbers have been gunned down on Nyeri-Nairobi highway.
Initial police report indicate the gunmen cum robbers who were on a motorbike shot a Special Crime Prevention Unit officer on foot.
Police trailed the criminals from Sagana and gunned them down at the Mahigaini springs area in Mathira.
An AK47 riffle and 12 bullets were recovered from the criminals after an exchange of fire with police.
According to head of Special Crime police Noah Katumo the injured officer is out of danger.
