Somalia security forces killed over a dozen Al-Shabaab fighters and captured six others in a major operation against the Islamist group in Somali’s capital, Mogadishu.
In an operation conducted on Wednesday, Somalia army forces raided an Al-Shabaab den following intelligence lead from the residents (HUMINT).
Several weaponry were recovered including nine AK 47 rifles, several round of ammunitions, one RPG launcher and also IED-making materials.
Jihadist’s materials including audio CDs, black terrorist’s flags were also seized.
According to Benadir region police commissioner, Bishar Abshir Gedi, briefing reporters in Mogadishu on Thursday that security forces were interrogating the captured operatives for more leads.
