Turkey’s presidential spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, has announced that over 70 percent of Syria’s Afrin region has been secured during the Turkish-led Operation Olive Branch.
The statement released to the media further said that the terrorists had been surrounded and that the operation would soon penetrate the center of Afrin believed to be the core of the terrorist and their activities.
Kalin also addressed continued U.S. support, including weapons, for the terrorist YPG/PKK and PYD/PKK — Syrian branches of the terrorist PKK — as “reliable allies” in the fight against ISIL, ignoring Turkey pointing out the groups’ terrorist status.
Turkey has maintained that the weapons given to the groups in Syria always tend to end up back with the terrorists in Turkey. The PKK has taken some 40,000 lives, including those of women and children in the war that has last 30 years.
