Orville Brooks, a 30 year old man has been sent to jailed for burning his girlfriend, authorities have confirmed.
After the conclusion that Orville Brooks poured gasoline on Tara Best and set her on fire, the judges decided the man should spend 200 years in jail.
Orville Brooks and Tara Best were lovers living in an apartment but they never got the hang of their relationship problems making it impossible for them to cohabit properly.
Earlier Friday the jury handling the case found Orville Brooks, 30, guilty of the attack on Tara Best in the couple’s apartment a year ago, an attack that left Tara Best with 70% burns.
Tara Best was rushed to hospital in critical condition and was put on life support for three months after suffering 40% 3rd degree burns out of the 70% burns on her body.
Tara told the courts that Orville Brooks had argued with her before he beat her and pushed her into a bathtub then poured gasoline over her then lit it with a match.
Orville Brooks was convicted on eight counts, false imprisonment and criminal intent to commit murder, before Clayton County Judge Geronda Carter who sentenced him to 205 years in jail.
