Event: Nigerian military authorities, yesterday, May 17, 2015 said that Nigerian Special Forces, backed by air power, descended heavily on Dure camp, Boko Haram’s most prominent camp in Sambisa forest, bringing the number of the terrorist’s destroyed camps on Saturday alone to over ten.
The military authorities also added that an unconfirmed number of terrorists died in the Nigerian Special Forces staged operation.
The terrorists lost a number of vehicles mounted with anti-aircraft guns and armoured vehicles. Some of the terrorists, who escaped from the camps, also died as they ran into Nigerian troops ambush in some escape routes.

Analysis of the situation:
The Nigerian Air Force is maintaining an active air surveillance to track the movement of terrorists for appropriate action so that no terrorist leaves Nigeria with his life.
Intelligence sources show that the terrorists are then left only with one strategy- carrying out suicide attacks on soft-targets.
Some of the fleeing terrorists on Saturday actually engaged in suicide missions at Nigeria’s Bitta, where they encountered Nigerian troops across the border in Niger Republic.
Use of a country’s Special Forces unit in the military has never been faulted in the attack of the enemy.
In Kenya, the Special Forces were trusted when the country encountered the foiled coup attempt in 1982 that was aimed to oust the then President Daniel Moi.
Kenya Special Forces were also employed to clear the way for Kenya Defense Forces entry into Somalia.
