Military sources from Nigeria indicate that Aliyu Ahmed alias Aliko a suspected Boko Haram militant was arrested by the Nigerian Military.
According to the Army Spokesman, Brig.-General Sani Usman, Aliko was arrested last week Friday by troops of the 33 Brigade following a tip off in Yuga Village,Buachi State where he was hiding. Aliko was found to be in possession of one single barrel gun and one Dane gun.
In a preliminary interrogation, Aliko confessed that he actively participated in several Boko Haram terrorist attacks, kidnaps and owned an AK-47 riffle which he later lost during one of the attacks in 2016.
Four child traffickers were also arrested with 19 underage children in Yobe state of Nigeria.
The traffickers and their victims were moved to the Brigade Headquarters for transfer to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking of persons.
