Nearly 50 Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab militants have been killed in three separate air raids conducted in the past few days.
U.S. military has confirmed that it has killed 49 fighters of the militant Al-Shabaab in different regions of Somalia.
The last strike conducted southwest of Bosasso neutralized 27 militants while several others managed to flee with injuries.
According to the U.S. Africa Command, another air raids conducted southwest of the capital Mogadishu on May 23 and May 31 resulted to deaths of 22 Al-Shabaab fighters.
The strikes were carried out in coordination with the government of Somalia, and are part of its counterterrorism campaign targeting terrorists, their training camps, and their havens throughout Somalia and the region.
No civilian casualties reported from the precision air sorties.
