
Muslim preachers and scholars can helping in teaching against radicalization and violent extremism in the wake of jihadist groups wooing youth into their ranks.
Speaking in Nairobi on the sidelines of the just concluded third Annual Islamic Conference, Sheikh Saeed Rageah warned against sidelining Muslim preachers and Scholars in the fight against radicalization.
Sheikh Saeed Rageah said many youth wooed into terror groups are mostly recruited through social media and rarely in Mosques.
To win the war against radicalization and terrorism, government needs to involve Muslims to come in and let them help in curbing the menace Rageah added.
Rageah said it possible for Muslims to pass the message to the youth as compared to other individuals irrespective of their social standing in the society.
Muslim preachers and scholars need to come in and emulate teacher Ayub Mohamud.
