Mohamed Abdulle Fidow, the district commissioner of Jalalaqsi Thursday escaped an Al-Shabaab ambush in central Somalia.
However, the DC sustained slight injuries in the gun attack between the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab and a military escorting convoy he was travelling in area between Jowhar and Jalalaqsi.
Fidow spoke to the media and confirmed the attempt on his life by Al-Shabaab militants as he was heading to Jalalaqsi town from Jowhar town.
Fidow also confirmed the death of a security guard and two Al-Shabaab militants killed during the incident.
