Wednesday, after deadly clashes that broke out on Tuesday night, moderate Islamists Ahlu SunnaWal Jamea has managed to retain the control of the strategic town of Dhusamareb.
The Sufism inspired militias have been fighting with their main rival , the Interim Galmudug administration for the control of the strategic town in central Somalia.
Galmudug administration enjoys the support of SNA citing its leader Abdikarin Hussein Gulled is a close ally of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The spokesman for Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamea militia boasted to the media saying that they are fully in control of Dhusamareb after forcing opposing renegade general with Somali National Army (SNA) to retreat.
The armed confrontations have left at least 20 killed in and around Dhusamareb which has been the center for battles over regional influence and control.
