A man identified as Eddy Reuben Illah shared images allegedly showing ‘dead’ KDF soldiers on a social media, WhatsApp group contrary to Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaisserry warning was charged in a Kiambu court on Tuesday 19, 2016.
Illah appeared before Kiambu Principal Magistrate Justus Kituku but denied sharing the images with WhatsApp group originating from his mobile handset.
The accused was charged to have distributed pictures allegedly showing dead KDF soldiers via WhatsApp social media platform to a group called “Youth People’s Union”.
The Magistrate ordered the accused be released on a Sh100,000 bond with a similar surety or a Sh50,000 cash bail with the mention of the case scheduled for February 2 and the hearing to begin on February 12, 2016.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery had warned public against posting such images on social media.
Posting images of fallen soldiers on social is being unpatriotic and an insult to soldiers who are dedicated to keep the country and neighbouring Somali secure.
This action is crime and can be compared to praising ill acts of terrorism and anyone caught to face full force of the law as warned by CS Nkaissery.
