Somalia’s local armed militias known as ‘Macawisley’ reportly carried out an assault on three key Al-Shabaab targets near Bulo-burde town of Hiran region, about 200km (125 miles) north of the capital, Mogadishu.
Open source reports indicate that battle erupted earlier in Gedwein area near Bulo-burde town, where an Al-Shabaab tax collector identified as Farow Fanne, was killed.
According to Ali Mohamed, who is leading the local militias fighting against Al-Shabaab, his militias captured Gedwein area from the militant Islamic group after fierce.

He noted that fighting was in revenge for deaths of his friends who were murdered by Al-Qaeda aligned Al-Shabaab this week.
“We will continue targeting Al-Shabaab bases in Hiran region. We do this before they kill us”, Mohamed said. Macawisley is a local armed group based in Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions.
Al-Shabaab collect forced taxation in the capital, Mogadishu and other regions in Somalia to finance its terror activities and the weak federal government of Somalia confirmed that it does not have capacity to stop this extortion.
