Increased Al-Shabaab activities continue to be recorded in Somalia with large scale attacks slowly resuming from across the regions of the Horn of Africa nation.
Early Monday, 30th November 2020, the Al-Qaeda aligned Al-Shabaab militants overran a Somali Army Base (SNA) in Ba’adweyne, Mudug region of Somalia. Corresponding sources reports indicate that over 20 government soldiers were killed, weapons and assorted ammunition were seized by the militants.
The militant group which still controls large rural swathes of central and southern Somalia. On Friday, 27th November 2020, a suicide bomber blew himself up, near Aden Adde International Airport Mogadishu killing at least eight people and wound fifteen others.
In a statement posted on group’s online propaganda media, Al-Shaba terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack. The latest series of attacks confirms that Al-Shabaab Mujahideen Movement has resumed its large scale attacks in Somalia, targeting both civilians and military targets.
