Kurdish fighters continue fighting the Islamic State and since Wednesday 26th August 2015, they have successfully managed to clear territory and freed villages in northern Iraq.
The Kurdish forces also known as Peshmerga, were helped out by US-led coalition to carry out airstrikes seizing more than 200 square kilometers from the militants and clearing them out of seven villages.
