Kenya’s Diani Beach has been voted as the best African beach destination in the recently concluded Berlin Tourism Expo. The annual expo brought hoteliers from across the world as well as stakeholders in the tourism industry. Diani clinched the coveted award for the fourth year in a row a move that has been termed as contributed by the efforts made by the Kenyan and Kwale County governments.
The expo was a good opportunity for countries, hoteliers and other parties in the tourism industry to showcase the attraction sites. The Diani strip of coastline on the Indian Ocean is fast becoming one of the country’s most popular destinations.
Some of the attraction spot and aspects of the destination include the thriving cultural scene, luxurious hotels, panoramic view of the Indian Ocean, as well as water sports like snookering, skydiving and marine parks.
The enhanced security by the Kenyan government has been attributed as the main reason why Diani has soared to the heights. Diani has also increased the number of tourists visiting other parts of the country and as such being a key aspect of the Kenyan tourism industry.
