Saturday 5th December 2015, At least 28 aliens from Somalia were arrested by Kenyan security forces in in Balambala region, Garissa County.
In the past weeks Al Shabaab have been claiming to sneak into the country in Northeast Kenya through the porous border and lecturing locals.
Army contingent have since been deployed to contain and neutralize any possible threat.
The 28 Somalis aliens were arrested by authorities in the intensified patrols along the border.
According to Garissa County Commissioner James Kianda, the group consisted of 17 men and 11 women arrested while traveling onboard a private hired vehicle.
The arrest was made possible by members of public who noticed them as stranded after their vehicle encountered mechanical hitch and informed the security forces.
The arrested aliens according to the County commander opted to use Balambala-Garissa route which instead of Dadaab-Garissa route to evade massive security operations ongoing by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and anti-terror police.
The aliens did not have any right papers documentation and were detained at Garissa for interrogation before being whisked to court to answer charges of being in the country illegally.
