Kenya security forces reportedly arrested 36 suspected Al-Shabaab operations in Linda Boni Operation that was launched nine months ago.
According to head of security operations James ole Serian, the arrested terror suspects so far have been handed over to interrogating agencies including the ATPU for profiling and possible prosecutions.
Ole Serian also revealed on various gains made in the Linda Boni Operations among them, installations of nine security stations comprising of the military and members of the KWS. Kenya Forest Service also expected to set up permanent base in the area.
SUCCESSESS
Operation Linda Boni was launched after it emerged in July 2015 that an Al-Shabaab cell had set up a permanent camp in the vast forest.
The primary goal of the operation is to hunt down the elements of Al-Shabaab (Jaysh Ayman) and pacify the Boni forest and it surrounding villages. The operation has so far recorded significant gains/successes.
