Kenya is not committed to the war on terror, a report released by the US State Department claims.
There are incredibly many gaps in the terror related intelligence gathering besides capacity in the police service.
The report points out lack of adequate funding of institutions tasked with anti-terrorism operations and corruptions as some of the factors affecting the war on terror in Kenya.
The intelligence report also questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta’s commitment to fight terror in Kenya.
The president promised to form a task force to investigate Westgate terror attack but no such report has been made available to the public by such a commission.
Lack of training, anti-terrorism task force, terrorist financial intelligence unit, and a reliable intelligence service are part of the concerns raised by the US State Department.
There lacks credence in intelligence and police coordination besides a wide gap in how these institutions including the military coordinate to safeguard the interests of the country.
