Kenya Defense Forces Directorate of Military Intelligence (KDF-DMI) on Monday distanced its troops from claims that they were involved in arms trafficking and abetting terrorism.
Two soldiers were approached by conmen who claim to be Red-Mercury merchants in the recent past with intent of defrauding the officers.
They gave the officers a round shaped gadget (bearing a landline structure) which they claim its for making red-Mercury.
This is the gadget police claim was with KDF connecting them to terrorism and arms sales.
However the officers were just victims of the 'Red mercury' conning network.
They are not involved in terror activities or illegal business as purported by sections of the media.
