Kenya has launched precision airstrikes on Al-Shabaab terror militants inside Somalia, military intelligence sources for SIS have confirmed.
KDF Jet bombers struck resources which included vehicles, ammunition depots, food, and fuel storage in Bula-Guduud villages north of Kismayo, a seaport which used to be controlled by the terrorists.
Bula-Guduud is about 30 miles north of the seaport of Kismayu, and it is controlled largely by the militants who still have links with people in the port.
Loud explosions could be heard as KDF jets conducted sorties on targets. Villagers have been warned to stay away from the targeted areas.
Intelligence reports show that Al-Shabaab have been trying to establish a forward base, a supply and logistics center in the area leading to the preemptive attack by the Kenyan military.
Kenya Military air strikes are often commissioned under AMISOM command though Kenya has independently intensified the aerial bombings of the Al-Shabaab who intelligence services in the region warn are re-establishing bases near Somali border with Kenya.
