A police convoy has been ambushed in East Pokot by suspected raiders, intelligence sources report.
The ambush happened late Thursday and initial reports haven’t confirmed any causalities or fatalities.
However preliminary
assessment and intelligence reports indicate 4 officers were reportedly missing.
The officer were later found after they managed to establish communication with another command unit.
Police report that a Child fund organization vehicle was sprayed with bullets in Lesrikan area of East Pokot in Kenya by suspected cattle rustlers.
The officers were on a mission to recover 200 animals stolen by bandits in the area.
The police officers were pursuing about 200 clivestock stolen from Arabal in Marigat by bandits from Pokot sub county, reliable sources report.
Sustained gunfire could be heard but none of the officers were injured in the incident.
