36 Al-Shabaab militants were killed by Kenya Defense Forces operating under the AMISOM banner in Somalia.
KDF troops conducted a surgical operation deep inside Somalia and managed to destroy two militant camps in Badhadhe in Lower Juba Somalia.
Dozens of mid-level commanders and their troops fleeing Barawe camped at the village of Lagta Berta in Badhadhe.
The militants fled Barawe fearing it’s fall to Ugandan forces who are advancing to the port town from the Mogadishu side of Sector 1.
Kenya Defense Forces operate in Sector 2 and are advancing deep into the far end of Lower Juba in a pincer movement to meet up with the Sector 1 operators.
Intelligence reports show several foreign fighters particularly from Yemen and East Africa were killed by the Kenya Army troops.
The militants equipment were destroyed and their capability degraded in the area.
